Suspect in Boroko stabbing identified

The alleged suspect in the murder of a young woman in 4 Mile, Boroko is known by Police.

Police Metropolitan Superintendent of NCD, Silva Sika told NBC this morning the police investigation unit is in the process of arresting the perpetrator.

"We have already identified the suspect and his location. I won't disclose the details until we arrest the suspect,"Mr Sika said.

The deceased is from the Simbu Province.

Met Supt Sika says the ratio of police manpower to the city's growing population is incomparable so combating criminal activities will continue to be a huge challenge and has urged that city residents just have to be more cautious when moving about.

"We are working in collaboration with NCDC and other stakeholders but let me assure you all that we are working tirelessly," Mr Sika said.
