Over 32 thousand grade 12s sit for exams this week

Grade 12 students of 225 secondary schools and six national schools of excellence across Papua New Guinea started their national exams this morning, marking a crucial step in their academic journey.

32,863 Grade 12 students will be sitting for the National Examinations from today to Friday, October 18th.

The NBC Newsroom reached out to a few schools in the Nation's capital this morning to observe the progress; so far, the progress is great.

Caritas Technical Secondary School acting principal, Grace Ani says the exam started well.

"We have 110 students here at Caritas and our exams are progressing well. I would like to encourage students that this is just one stage in life they're crossing, and they must be confident.

"I would like to encourage students to remain disciplined throughout this entire examination week," Ms Ani said.

Session 1 this morning began with Advanced Mathematics/General Mathematics Paper 1 followed by Applied Physics and History in the second session.

Tomorrow's first session will be taken up by Physics and Accounting followed by Geography in session 2.

Wednesday's first session is set for Biology and Economics and business studies in session 2.

Session 1 of Thursday is scheduled for Language & Literature and Applied English followed by Chemistry and Legal studies in the second session.

The exams will be concluded by Information and Communication Technology in session 1 and followed by both Advanced and General Mathematics Paper 2 on Friday.
