Kriebisch claims U13 Australian girls squash title

PAPUA New Guinea’s rising squash sensation Timonaliz Alarcos-Kriebisch is now the Australia’s Under-13 Girls top ranked player following her participation in the Australian Junior Championships recently.
The 13-year-old junior female athlete of the year unseeded Australia’s Cleo Poulava to claim the title and was also among her younger sibling Ethan who placed 5th in the U11 Boys category.
Timonaliz is the daughter of former PNG Squash rep Merlyn Alarcos.
“As parents, we’re happy of her commitment and hard work coming together. Truly grateful for the support from family and friends Daisy Hill members and the Port Moresby Racquets Club,” Alarcos said.
“We appreciate coaches Bradley [Hindle], Raj [Nanda] and Marc Forster for taking their time to help Timona grow. PNG Squash future is looking great.”

Meanwhile PNG Squash & Racquet Federation president Lady Anna Togolo said Timona’s effort to train, and commit has earned her this spot.
“Ethan placed 5th in U11 Boys, well done to him still recovering from a hand injury. Incredibly proud of Timona and her efforts in the past 2 years since she moved to Daisy Hill Squash Club in Queensland, Australia,” Togolo said.
“Thank you to Coach Bradley Hindle & team. Her family and friends who provide an important support base that all elite athletes need, we are looking forward to seeing Timona representing team PNG on the squash courts in the years to come,” she said.
