ICSA launches Sponsor Portal for business efficiency

The Immigration and Citizenship Authority launched the Sponsor Portal that will provide a convenient and one-stop-shop platform for Visa and Passport processing.

This digital platform merges the physical work permit and work visa application, a web-based interface which will allow its users to lodge work permits and work visa applications online.

Acting Chief Migration Officer of Immigration and Citizenship Services Authority [ICS]) Wellington Navasivu at the launching of the online portal said the online platform is a tool that's part of their innovation in harnessing the power of technology into the businesses they provide.

"For ICSA and the government this process we are undertaking is to make the business more effective, less cumbersome but profitable not just for us in terms of money but time,"Mr. Navasivu said.

Meanwhile this digital platform now merges the two physical applications into a single digital application.

It means sponsors who hire foreign employees no longer have to apply separately for work permit and work visa.

They can now use this digital form to submit applications and pay the fee online.

They can follow up and communicate with ICSA officers on the same platform instead of going to the Office or standing in line.
