Teachers shape Markham’s future
For teachers at Waritzian Primary School, teaching is more than standing in front of a classroom.
It is about shaping young lives, building confidence and preparing children in Markham District for the future.
That message was highlighted today as the school joined communities across Papua New Guinea to mark World Teachers’ Day, recognising the dedication of teachers who continue to educate and care for children.
Teachers, students and members of the school community gathered to acknowledge the work of educators and the important role they play in their students’ lives.
The school’s motto, “Hard Work Pays,” reflects the values teachers are encouraging in their students — hard work, discipline and a commitment to learning.
For the Waritzian school community, Teachers’ Day was, therefore, not only a celebration, but an opportunity to recognise the people helping to build the next generation of Markham.
World Teachers’ Day is observed on October 5 each year.
