September 16 murder suspects detained in Goroka
Two main suspects who were allegedly involved in the murder of Marot Keteno on September 16, 2026 have been arrested and are now detained at the at Goroka Police Station.
Eastern Highlands Provincial Police Commander Chief Superintendent, Albert Beli has confirmed the two suspects and they will be charged accordingly.
PPC Beli, while acknowledging the good work that his officers have done, is also calling on the relatives of the deceased not to take the law into their own hands, as the matter is now in police hands.
"I am calling on the family members of the late deceased to assist the police instead of taking the law into their own hands.
“A wrong has been done, and we must let the law take its course. We must not create another wrong because that will not fix what has happened; it will only lead to bigger problems," PPC Beli said.
PPC Beli further thanked the police officers and community leaders who assisted in bringing forward the main suspects under investigation. He said the two will remain in police custody and will appear in court as soon as their court files are ready.
