NID rollout underway in Moresby South

A civil registration and national identification [NID] rollout program is underway across the Moresby South electorate to ensure residents have access to basic state identity services.

The program, which commenced on September 21, focuses on issuing NID cards and birth certificates for children under 20 years of age, covering eligible records registered between 2015 and 2020.

Supported by Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko, the project is being facilitated through the Moresby South District Administration under district administrator Aisop Mol, in partnership with the PNG Civil and Identity Registry.

Described as an effort to bring government services closer to the people, the rollout operates across designated collection points spanning from 6-Mile through to Kone.

Collection points established across the electorate include Sabama Police Post, Koki Transit Market House, 6-Mile Saraga Market, and Gereka Police Post.

Tkatchenko urged residents who have registered or are eligible for documentation to visit the designated sites to collect their identity documents.
