Jiwaka students attending Divine Word University [DWU] were provided tuition fee assistance by the provincial government

Jiwaka provincial administration presented K198,000 to support 66 students studying various courses in the institution

DWU Register, Ali Clare Aribi said the university was de-registering students who fail to pay their outstanding tuition fees, and the assistance was timely.

"We as an institution are trying our best to maintain students numbers, progression, academic performances and so students should appreciate this," Aribi said.

Deputy provincial administrator Stanley Wantakson and finance manager Siwi Takai, presented the funds to DWU's registrar today.

Wantakson told the students to see this assistance as an investment in Jiwaka's human resource, and urged them to contribute to building the province after they graduate.

The Jiwaka School Fee Assistance teams are visiting various universities across the country to assist students from their province.
