Air Niugini has taken a significant step towards elevating its customer service standards in East Sepik Province, officially launching a modern retail sales outlet in Wewak today.

The national carrier has strategically relocated its regional sales operations to Tang Mow Plaza, positioning its services inside one of the town’s primary commercial centers to ensure maximum visibility and seamless walk-in access for everyday passengers.

East Sepik Governor Allan Bird when officiating the opening ceremony, welcomed the corporate upgrade, saying the investment represents a highly anticipated win for local commuters who rely heavily on air travel as an economic lifeline.

He commended the national airline for strengthening its commercial presence, stating that robust corporate infrastructure is vital for keeping East Sepik connected to the rest of Papua New Guinea and international markets.

The new facility replaces older retail constraints with a spacious, modernized corporate layout. The upgrade will allow ticketing personnel to more efficiently handle passenger inquiries, manage complex travel itineraries, process group bookings, and deliver face-to-face customer support.

Air Niugini’s management indicated that setting up operations inside the busy plaza complex will significantly reduce transit friction for provincial travelers looking to secure flights and manage travel profiles before heading out to Boram Airport.
