LCA donates K200,000 worth of medical supplies to Angau hospital
The Lae City Authority [LCA] has presented K200,000 worth of medical supplies and consumables to Angau General Hospital, providing critical relief amid the ongoing nationwide shortage of medical drugs.
The donation comes just weeks after LCA supplied medical items worth K130,000 to all 10 urban clinics across Lae City, stepping in to support frontline health services at a time of growing need.
LCA Chief Executive Officer Robin Kalistus made the presentation on behalf of the authority to Angau General Hospital CEO Dr Kipas Binga.
Dr Binga expressed gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister and Lae MP John Rosso, who chairs the LCA Board, as well as Kalistus and the authority, describing the support as timely and significant.
“This is a very big and timely support from LCA. On behalf of the hospital’s management, board, staff and patients, I would like to sincerely thank the Honourable John Rosso, Mr Kalistus and the Lae City Authority for this much-needed assistance,” Dr Binga said.
The donation is expected to help ease pressure on hospital services as health facilities across the country continue to face supply challenges.
