Chuave MP James Nomane has demanded that the government publicly release the 2025 Expenditure Report, claiming several districts and provinces have not received their full funding allocations this year.

Nomane told Parliament that the District Services Improvement Program [DSIP] and Provincial Services Improvement Program [PSIP] make up only 5.2 percent of the government’s K28.3 billion budget for 2025, while K1.6 billion has been directed to the government’s flagship Connect PNG Program.

However, he said Chuave has yet to fully benefit from its DSIP allocation or road infrastructure funding from this year’s budget.

"From my calculations, if we're talking about equity, which is fairness and respect for all districts and provinces throughout the country, each district should have received at least K15 million in road funding," Nomane said.

"So my question to the Honourable Prime Minister is when is he going to publish the expenditure reports to clearly demonstrate to the people of Papua New Guinea how much the districts received from the full K28 billion. I want the exact date of when these reports will be made public."

In response, Prime Minister James Marape said the government had been fair in its allocations and that Chuave should have already received K8 million in DSIP this year.

He said government is examining possible constitutional amendments to guarantee minimum funding levels for all districts and provinces going forward.
