Milne Bay leads Southern Region with early return of LLG writs
Milne Bay’s Election Manager, Dadu Daga, has confirmed that the province has completed counting for all Local Level Governments [LLGs], with the Writs returned today.
Daga, who travelled to Port Moresby with the Writs, said Milne Bay delivered a smooth LLG election process, with all 18 LLGs and 410 wards successfully declaring their results. Counting was finalised over the weekend.
He said all information on elected presidents and ward councillors has been submitted to the Office of the Governor and the Cabinet Secretary, who will now oversee swearing-in ceremonies.
At least four LLG presidents have retained their seats:
- Matthew Magioudi – West Fergusson LLG
- Royroy Kaitolele – Goodenough LLG
- Bernard Jack – Yeleyamba LLG
- Lelena Metoa – Huhu LLG
The remaining 12 LLG presidents are newcomers.
Milne Bay is expected to be the first province in the Southern Region to return its Writs.
