Simbu PPC praises peaceful LLG election, issues stern warning against unlawful conduct
The people of Simbu Province have earned high commendation from the Simbu Provincial Police Commander [PPC], Chief Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang, for their exemplary peaceful and orderly conduct during LLG election.
Provincial Police Commander [PPC], Chief Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang commended the people of Simbu province for their orderly conduct during LLG election and confirmed that the overall polling process concluded smoothly and successfully across all districts.
"I want to thank the law-abiding citizens of Simbu for showing maturity, respect, and cooperation during the election period," Supt Rubiang said in a statement.
"Despite minor isolated incidents, people in Simbu demonstrated the true spirit and respect for the democratic process."
PPC Rubiang acknowledged the considerable challenges faced by the police force, including logistics and funding constraints. However, he stressed that these difficulties did not diminish the officers' commitment to their duties.
"I reminded my officers that funding constraints will not stop them from carrying out their duties. We remain committed to ensuring that our people exercise their democratic rights fairly and equally," Mazuc said.
He reassured the public that they are proud to serve the people and will continue to maintain their operations throughout the counting period and declaration of the LLG presidents.
"We have taken an oath to serve our country and our people. Simbu is our home, our family lives here, we do our shopping here, and our children attend school here," he said.
PPC Rubiang concluded with a strong appeal to all candidates and supporters to maintain peace and patience counting proceeds, aiming to ensure Simbu remains a model of peaceful election in Papua New Guinea.
He stated that hijacking the system or kidnapping elected leaders will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
"This unlawful practice is detrimental to the democratic process and will meet with the full force of the law," he said.
He urged strict adherence to legal and ethical procedures when lobbying for the president seat.
