Tsiamalili to open Pacific ICT Dialogue in Fiji

Caretaker Minister for Information and Communications Technology, Peter Tsiamalili Jr., is scheduled to attend the 2nd Pacific Island Ministers Dialogue [PICTMD] in Suva, Fiji.

As Papua New Guinea currently holds the chairmanship, Minister Tsiamalili will deliver the opening remarks at the ministerial meeting.

A PNG official confirmed that ICT Ministers from 14 Pacific Island countries are expected to participate in the regional dialogue.

The event aims to strengthen cooperation and advance digital development priorities aligned with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.

Preliminary meetings begin today at the Pacific Islands Forum Conference Centre. Senior officials will meet tomorrow, followed by the Ministerial session on Friday, August 8.

Several key announcements are expected to be made in a final communiqué.

Minister Tsiamalili and his delegation are expected to arrive in Suva later today.
