Mise leads Aitape-Lumi by-election count

United Resource Party candidate Anderson Mise has taken the lead in the Aitape-Lumi By-Election count, securing 9,664 votes after Count 14.

He is followed by National Alliance Party candidate Patrick Pruaitch with 8,217 votes.

Trailing behind are:
• Tony Christie Waisi [Our Pati] – 2,745 votes
• Cansius Kapu [Paradise Kingdom Party] – 202 votes
• Daniel Reim Abiazah [Model Nation Party] – 171 votes
• Paul Aisir [Independent] – 137 votes

Returning Officer John Awas confirmed that ballot boxes from two Local Level Government areas [LLGs] have been processed so far from Aitape West Rural LLG and East Wapei LLG.

Counting has covered 4 out of 8 boxes for East Wapei LLG and 3 out of 5 boxes for Aitape West Rural LLG. The remaining six boxes for these LLGs will be counted when counting resumes after lunch.
