The Kamuga District of PNG Bible Church is currently hosting the 2025 women’s retreat.

Hundreds of women from 29 Districts or over 900 local churches across the country including the foreign missions have flocked into the campsite in Kulimb area of Upper Nebilyer, Tambul Nebilyer district since Monday this week.

This convention is the first of its kind for Kamuga district where 30 plus local churches collaborate to put effort and resources. Sister districts greatly assisted too.

Also members of the seven wards within the Kulimb areas including Business and educated elites have contributed immensely to ensure road condition, and accommodation is ready on time.

The preparation work began earlier this year until full completion before ladies move in.

Yesterday was the first night of the convention. Ladies from the Tambul, Lower Kagul, Hagen District, Jiwaka and districts in the neighboring highlands provinces moved in. Remaining Momase, Islands and Southern Region including Autonomous Region of Bougainville and Foreign moved in later in the evening.

A warm reception was staged from the main entrance all the way to the district tabernacle where the tents were set-up.

In a small ceremony, National Chairman of PNG Bible church, Rev. Wane Ninjipa officially opened the retreat.

“We are grateful that there’s fine weather here for you all to have a good retreat. I now officially open the 2025 ladies retreat,” Rev Wane said.

Kulimb is one of the peaceful tribes in the Tambul-Nebilyer electorate which also hosts mostly the main centres of catholic, Seventh-Day, Lutheran and other decominations.

The community is known for peace loving and highly respectful to God’s word and strongly believes in education and peace.

Allan Sumb of catholic church has warmly welcomed all the women of the PNG Bible Church nationwide for choosing Kamuka as the host district.

“We are honored. Thank you for selecting our community to share in this special occasion. We hope you will enjoy the warm hospitality of our people and have a blessed, enriching retreat. May your time here be filled with fellowship, reflection, and spiritual renewal.” Allen said.

Thomalis Hoa and chief of Kulimb, Kulu Kiluwa also shared the similar sediments.

Given the geographical condition, Kulimb is surrounded with the mighty Gun Pass range at the back, pushed back by swamps of Kulimb surrounded with rivers- Nebilyer and Suma but it was an ideal location chosen by God for He knew His word will be kept and preserved wholeheartedly.

Chief Kulu said it was not a mistake that Kamuka won the bid to host the 2025 retreat because this opportunity will create more good and greater things for the people.

"We want more good and better things to happen in our community. We want communities and homes to transform and this is the beginning.

"We respect churches, we respect servants of God and we can assure you all that your weeklong convention will be a wonderful story to tell."

The convention started Thursday night and will run through to Sunday.
