Enga province invests in school facilities

The Enga Provincial Government continues to prioritise education across the province, with a strong focus on supporting rural communities.
Monokam Primary School, located in the Upper Ambum area of Kompiam-Ambum District, has received a substantial funding boost of K150,000 to support its recent upgrade to high school status.
The funding announcement coincided with the official opening of a newly completed administration building, constructed at a cost of K500,000. The project was made possible through the support of the Enga Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Sir Peter Ipatas.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Ipatas, Deputy Provincial Administrator for Economic Services, Dr Yamarak Londari, made the announcement and extended the Governor's congratulations.
"Today I represent the provincial member Sir Peter Ipatas to make this announcement and also send his congratulations for the completion of this building," Dr Londari said.
"I would like to clarify that K100,000 will go towards supporting the school's transition into a high school, while K50,000 is to assist with other needs of the school."
In addition to the support for Monokam School, surrounding primary schools will each receive K10,000, and elementary schools will be given K5,000 each.
