NCD awaits new Met Supt as Sika takes up ACP Training Commandant

The National Capital District is expecting a new Metropolitan Superintendent in the coming days, with the current Acting Metropolitan Superintendent, Chief Inspector Silva Sika, being appointed as the new ACP Training and Commandant of the National Center of Excellence [NCOE] at Bomana.
The current Training Commandant Chief Superintendent Perou N’Dranou will no longer be an active member of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary [RPNGC] after his contract expired in January.
According to the Police Commissioner David Manning, after considering the strategic direction of the RPNGC, a decision was reached not to extend Mr. N’Dranou’s contract beyond the expiration date.
“With respect to the decision to not renew ACP N'Dranou's contract, I can confirm that his performance-based contract was not renewed after extensive consideration of ACP N’Dranou’s skillsets and the strategic leadership requirements of the RPNGC as we enter a critical phase of rebuilding the frontline of the Constabulary.
"I have issued clear strategic directions to rebuild a professional and committed police force that meets the needs of our communities. I expect all ACPs to bring invigorated leadership and a commitment to delivering upon this strategic focus of the RPNGC, and our communities", Commissioner Manning said.
Meanwhile Chief Superintendent Silva Sika is to assume his new role as the Commandant for the NCOE Bomana while NCD awaits the announcement of the new Metropolitan Superintendent which has already been confirmed by the Police Commissioner.
