Ume to take ring tonight in Gold Coast

PNG's top amateur boxer in who made the transition to pro boxing last year will be taking the ring tonight in the Gold Coast.

John Ume will finally make his first international professional fight tonight against Townsville's Chris Oliver in the welterweight division.

John spent the last two months in the Gold Coast training under Australian Coach Glen Azzar.

Coach Azzar is also helping John establishing himself as a brand in Australia under the name "The Predator".

Coach Azzar spoke of John Ume as a very talented boxer who has potential to achieve a lot as a professional boxer and earn decent living, thus, his reason behind assisting with the opportunity to live and succeed in Australia.
