Court warns NGCB CEO to appear or face arrest

The Waigani District Court has issued a warning to the Chief Executive Officer of the National Gaming Control Board, to appear at her next court mention or face a Warrant of Arrest.
Magistrate Paul Nii issued this warning to the NGCB CEO Imelda Agon this morning after Agon and her lawyer were not present in court for her second mention.
Police arrested Agon early this month and charged her for abuse of office and attempt to pervert the course of justice.
She was scheduled for her first mention on Monday 17th of March, but failed to appear.
Magistrate Nii is furious that both Agon and her counsel did not turn up in court for her second mention this morning.
He says if she does not appear for her third mention, the District Court will issue a warrant for her arrest.
Magistrate Nii has adjourned the matter to next Monday 24th of March 2025 for Agon's third mention.
