Akem sworn-in as chairman of Permanent Parliament Committee on Law and Order

Pioneer Lagaip Open MP Aimos Joseph Akem, was officially sworn in as the Chairman of the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Law and Order, at the Parliament House yesterday.
Mr. Akem was appointed by the Marape Rosso Government, during the last Parliament Sitting of 2024, but was only sworn-in by the Parliamentary Counsel and Legal Services Legal Officer, Emmanuel Halape.
The ceremony marks Mr. Akem’s formal assumption of the leadership role for this important Parliamentary Committee, to address Law and Order issues, which is affecting the country on a daily basis.
Mr. Akem won the 2023 Supplementary Election of the new Lagaip District, after the 2022 National Election, was declared a failure by the Electoral Commission, due to election related violence in the new district.
