The BSP Financial Group Limited has reimbursed up to K8 Million to its customers who have fallen victim to the card cloning scheme.

This was revealed by Director for Crimes Detective Superintendent Joel Simatab following a meeting with Kina Bank and BSP Financial Group Limited this week.

The meeting between the Police and the concerned Banks have led to an Investigation Task Force being set up to investigate the card cloning crimes that have taken place throughout Port Moresby and other parts of the country.

The task force has been sanctioned by the Acting Police Commissioner Donald Yamasombi in response to the public outcry about money going missing in their accounts.

The Director for Crimes said, "they’ve been given three months to carry out this investigation and his team already have leads on suspects."

He said the Banks have agreed to work with the investigation Task Force Team by providing complaints from customers and footages that indicate suspicious activities around various ATMS.

Mr. Simatab said, the investigation team have already identified couple of suspects and they will be brought in for questioning in the days to come
