The Private Companies Netball Competition [PCNC] is working to reinforce its competition by seeking coaching and training opportunities.

PCNC president Julie Mai made these remarks, moving forward to the new playing window after the conclusion of round 1 games last weekend.

“As we move forward, I see opportunities for us to enhance the competition further. We could consider offering additional training workshops for our players and coaches to refine their techniques and strategies,” Mai said.

“PCNC had the privilege of having an Australian umpires observe the competition on the Game 4 of the competition. They were also there to assess a few umpires who completed their courses online.

“PCNC also sees the opportunity to challenge other Associations in other Provinces. This is in discussion at the moment.

“Overall, the executives are satisfied with how round one unfolded. It sets a strong foundation for the rest of the season, and I am eager to see how our teams develop and grow throughout the competition.”

Mai said the round 1 atmosphere witnessed hard work and dedication from the teams with players showcasing prodigious skills and passion for the game, which truly exemplified the spirit of the association.

“It is encouraging to see our players displaying sportsmanship and demonstrating respect towards their opponents,” the president said.

“This camaraderie is essential for fostering a positive environment in the competition and will help build lasting relationships among the players.

She said despite a few challenges in regard to the rules and regulations, the competition ran smoothly prior to the festive season break.

“The scheduling was effective, and our referees did an excellent job of maintaining the game's flow and ensuring fair play.

“I appreciate the efforts of the Executives, Games Director and Judiciary Committee, for their efforts to ensure the games are run smoothly. Their commitment to the association and the sport is truly commendable.”

Mai acknowledged Vodafone, who is the gold sponsor of the competition, in uplifting the face of the Rita Flynn Netball Courts with the branching and paving way for the PCNC website and Facebook page.

She said the online platforms have been used to provide updates and information about the competition, which is set to resume on January 12, 2025.
