Hela Governor Philip Undialu empowers youths for Tari Town clean-up exercise

Tari Town in the Hela Province now appears beautiful following a clean-up initiative conducted by youths from nine wards of the Tari Urban local level government.
The temporary relocation of second-hand goods, betelnut, and Asian products street sales vendors, along with the opening of the new market, has created ample space for public servants and other residents of Hela who come to the town for shopping.
Hela Governor Philip Undialu has empowered the youths to take on the responsibility of cleaning the township.
He announced that the Hela Provincial Government will provide funding for this initiative.
“I want the young people of our town to embrace ownership of our town keeping it free from litter and ensuring law and order,” he said.
He stressed the importance of a peaceful and clean environment for mothers who wish to market their goods.
“Tari Town serves as the home and hub for the nine urban wards, utilizing their land for administrative and business purposes.
“Every citizen must respect Tari Town, as it is the heart of our social, administrative, and commercial activities.
"In the past, we have allowed a lack of order to prevail, but today I urge the youth of Tari to take charge of these challenges.
“Tari Town has the potential for significant growth if we all collaborate to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone.”
