Visa Debit Card to counter fraud: Kina Bank

To counter financial fraud, all Kina Bank customers will use Visa Debit Cards this month to spend their bank funds.

The bank's chief operating officer, Roppe Uyassi, said, "We want all of our customers to have Visa debit chip cards. We think it's in the best interest of customers not to expose them to the risk of card fraud.

"It [card fraud] affects all banks, different banks taking different strategies, and our strategy is to eliminate all the local cards."

The work started 12 months ago by Kina Bank to migrate all its customers using local cards to visa debit cards, which ended last month.

Mr. Uyassi said Kina Bank customers have not been affected during the transition period, which ended last month.
