The Moni Plus Capital Rugby Union launched its Junior Academy this week, aimed to foster pathways for emerging rugby talents in nation’s capital.
The development program which will be under the leadership of former Australian Sevens representative player, Aidan Toua.
The program is dedicated to providing young rugby players with the opportunity to learn basic rugby skills, catch and pass, how to fall in a tackle, how to tackle, healthy eating, and the five core world rugby values: respect, discipline, solidarity, passion, and integrity.
Toua, a CRU ambassador and a former Queensland Reds and ACT Brumbies star was delighted to spearhead the program, bringing a wealth of experience to the academy.
“We are excited to launch the Moni Plus Capital Rugby Union Junior Academy,” Toua said.
“We believe that this Academy will provide a great opportunity for young rugby players to learn the game and develop their skills.
“We are committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment where all players feel welcome and supported.”
The CRU academy is open to boys and girls aged 10-16 with training sessions to be held on Saturdays for the next six weeks, followed by a full match day at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium.
