Basketball National All Stars Championships in SHP deferred

The Basketball National All Stars Championships that was scheduled to take place in Ialibu in the Southern Highlands Province in September, has been postponed to October.

The confirmation of the deferral was made by the President of the Basketball Federation of PNG, David Peter Friday this week.

The championships are now scheduled for October 25th to 28th in the beautiful scenic Riwi village in Ialibu.

President Peter said, "The decision to defer the tournament was made in the interest of safety and security, considering the current political climate occurring at the national level."

Despite the deferral, President Peter says the Basketball Federation of PNG remains confident to deliver the tournament in October.

Meanwhile, with the primary objective of fostering basketball's expansion, president Peter is encouraging community participation.

He said this event promises to be an exciting and enriching experience for all involved.
