Papua New Guinea Touch Football teams to the 2024 Touch World Cup received a timely boost of sponsorship from the Lae Biscuit Company Limited over the weekend.

PNGTF is currently preparing seven teams that will compete in the 2024 edition against 190 teams representing 40-plus nations from across the continent.

PNG will be represented by elite men's and women's teams for the event scheduled from July 15-21 in Nottingham, England.

As the national touch teams look forward to the world cup campaign, Lae Biscuit has rallied it's support by providing 10 cartons of its Pawa Drink product.

Present on behalf of the company to present the cartons of Pawa Drinks was Rebecca Bill.

”On behalf of Lae Biscuit Company Limited, we are happy to sponsor the PNG Touch Teams with 10 cartons of Pawa Drinks," said Bill.

Player representative and PNG Open women's player Vavine Yore said the team is very much thankful to Lae Biscuit Company for the support.

"On behalf of the players and team management, thank you Lae Biscuit Company."

"Every support goes a long way, this will help us in our preparation for the Touch World Cup and we have less than 30 days remaining before we travel to the tournament in Nottingham, England," said Yore.

Yore said this Touch Football World Cup will see PNG travelling with the largest contingent which includes seven teams who will be competing in the respective seven competition divisions.

"This includes our three elite open division teams, and we are pretty excited. This sponsorship is a good motivation for us," said Yore.
