Games to continue despite flight disruptions

The Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition (PNGNRLC) is confident that the competition will continue despite the challenges of further flight cancellations and delays due to fuel shortages.
As this situation is evolving rapidly, a decision to play games from the original draw with reduced flight travel will be scheduled in the next few rounds.
Tony Archer, the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League general manager of pathways and performance, said that the national rugby league remains committed to ensuring that the competition is managed across all playing centers.
He mentioned that they are remaining agile to ensure that the competition continues despite the current challenges they are facing.
The 12 franchises competing have been accommodating the decisions made by the competition governing body, and Archer commended their devoted effort in allowing the games to be played in this challenging period.
He also congratulated the efforts of the players and coaches who continue to improve every round as they showcase their skills despite disrupted preparation.
Some changes have been made to the original draw for the next two rounds to ensure that the games are played without jeopardizing the integrity and fairness of the competition.
Round 6 games this weekend will see Waghi Tumbe taking on Mt Hagen Eagles at Jon Amban Oval on Saturday, while Agmark Gurias and Port Moresby Vipers will kick off Sunday’s matches at Santos National Football Stadium at 12pm.
