NBC to broadcast Ume and Wailo’s bouts

The National Broadcasting Corporation will officially televise PNG’ boxers John Ume and Kondup Samson Wailo as they headline the BX-9 Volume seven in New Zealand next Saturday.

The event is exclusive to PNG following a new partnership between Light Speed, NBC and Combat Sports Network.

PNG’s top ranked and two-time Olympic Boxer John Ume steps into the BX-9 again as champion contender since his transition as a professional boxer.

He will face New Zealand’s Hamza Perwaisy in what stands out as one highlighted bouts of the card.
Alongside Ume, seasoned PNG combat sports athlete Kondup Samson-Wailo who has recorded more than 45 kick-boxing bouts makes his professional boxing debut against New Zealand Born and Niuean Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Duken Williams.

The pair feature on a stacked professional card taking over Auckland on next weekend Saturday evening as the tournament also features its first BX-9 Cruiserweight Championship starting off with the quarterfinals.

Following formality of broadcast partnership in a media statement, CSN Managing Director Oz Jabur said they are looking forward to creating more opportunities to showcase and develop PNG fighters on an international stage.

NBC will be delivering the action live action via Television, Radio and Digital platforms.
