Tour operator opens first international outing
A new tour operator in Milne Bay province is extending an invite to Papua New Guineans who wish to join a two-day tour in Japan scheduled for June, 2027.
Takita Travel and Tours is calling on interested tour operators, sight owners, groups and individuals to register as invitation for the adventure, which closes on Sunday, August 16 2026.
With over 25 years of working experience in the Tourism and Hospitality industry, owner and tour Guide for Takita Travel and Tours, Gali Joel, said Papua New Guineans need to be exposed overseas to experience the diverse opportunities and activities the tourism industry offers.
"We'd like to have an experience where we can also impart to our tourists when we bring them to our tour sites" she said.
"So when customers come to our sites, they will want to experience something so for us we are going to Japan to see developments that we don't have in our country"
Joel said this will be the first international trip organized by Takita Travel and Tours, adding that with Gurney International Airport opening next week, it will be a bonus.
"I worked 17 years with Air Niugini and I do booking for group travels and this is another experience to get guests out of PNG"
She said more than 20 people from Buka, Port Moresby and Milne Bay have expressed interest in this endeavor.
She added that her tour company will be assisting participants with passport processing.
Ms. Joel emphasized that this international tour won't be the last, they have plans to visit Jerusalem on the next international tour.
