BSP supports improved healthcare services with reopening of 9 mile urban clinic

Access to quality healthcare services remains a major challenge across Papua New Guinea and a new partnership between the Bank of South Pacific and National Capital District health authority is helping to address this issue.

The NCDPHA officially reopened the 9 Mile Clinic last Friday after eight weeks of major renovation works funded by the Bank of South Pacific.

The newly renovated clinic is now fully operational and expected to benefit thousands of residents in 9 Mile and surrounding communities.

BSP contributed K60,000 through its Finance & Strategy and Treasury Divisions as part of its community support program, while Roma Construction completed the refurbishment works.

BSP Head of Marketing and Sales, Perryson Miori says the project reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting stronger healthcare services and improving access to quality care for families.

9 Mile Clinic Manager Sr. Maria Runanae, thanked BSP, NCDPHA and Roma Construction for the facelift for what she described is a “more welcoming environment for patients and staff.”

NCDPHA Chief Executive Officer Dr Robin Oge, says the reopening demonstrates the importance of partnerships in strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring consistent and essential medical services.
