Prime Minister James Marape has described his visit to Guangdong Province in China as a success.

He brushed aside calls by the Opposition as globe trotting.

Mr Marape says a handful of outcomes were achieved in the mining sector, forestry and energy.

Earlier this week, the Opposition held a news conference and speaking there, the Opposition leader criticised the China trip taken by the Prime Minister and his delegation.

Arriving in Port Moresby after the three-days trip, Prime Minister defended the trip stating China is a close bilateral partner and this trip strengthens trade and investment.

Spending 3 days in Guangdong Province, Prime Minister Marape says the Chinese market offers better opportunities for PNG products.

Mr. Marape also said, following this trip, a land has been offered to PNG Government to establish a trade mission.

Prime Minister Marape further stated that talks on Frieda Mine in West Sepik and down-streaming for the Ramu Nickel Project in Madang have progressed positively.
