Treasurer Ian Ling Stuckey has admitted that Papua New Guinea will be affected by the war in Iran.

He says the cost of fuel and goods will increase by 8th April and not now as assumed by the Opposition.

However, the Treasurer says the Government will apply the same tactics endorsed during the war in Ukraine.

He says the national government and relevant state agencies are monitoring the war and its impact.

He outlined the necessary steps the Government will take as the war in Iran continues.

Treasurer Ling Stuckey was responding to Deputy Opposition Leader Keith Iduhu in parliament last week.
