Mother’s day music festival launches ticket sales to support cervical cancer care
The We Are One Foundation [WAO] has officially opened ticket sales for the upcoming Mother’s Day Charity Music Festival, a national initiative aimed at funding critical health services in Papua New Guinea.
Scheduled for 10 May 2026 at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Cervical Cancer Unit at Port Moresby General Hospital. In partnership with Fone Haus, the foundation held a launch ceremony on Tuesday to begin the countdown to the celebration.
The festival will feature a lineup of prominent artists, including Justin Wellington, Chris Cobb, Mereani Masani, and the Stagaja Band. Beyond the music, the event is designed to unite the community around women’s health.
"Every ticket purchased contributes towards strengthening the Cervical Cancer Unit… and helping save lives across Papua New Guinea," said Kavitha Bluett, Foundation Director of WAO.
Tickets are available through Fone Haus outlets with three primary tiers:
General Admission: K80
Grandstand: K160
Family Package: K250 (covers two adults and two children aged 6–12) Children under the age of six may enter for free.
Family-Focused EnvironmentOrganizers are emphasizing a safe, family-friendly atmosphere. Gates will open early at 12:00 pm for children's activities, including bouncing castles, and local SMEs will provide food and beverage stalls.
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic mats and folding chairs to enjoy the performances. To maintain the family orientation of the festival, officials confirmed that alcohol is strictly prohibited and security will conduct bag checks at the entrance.
Alongside public sales, WAO has introduced the "100 Leaders for Mothers" initiative. This program calls on corporate leaders to support the cause by purchasing tickets in bulk for their staff, fostering a sense of social responsibility toward maternal wellbeing.
