Marawaka coffee becomes official sponsor of APEC 2025 in Korea
Coffee grown in Marawaka, Eastern Highlands is gaining international attention, earning the role of official coffee sponsor for APEC 2025 in Gyeongju, South Korea.
The coffee is marketed under the Imunika Wellness Specialized Coffee brand and is now available in Korean markets.
Foreign Affairs Minister Justin Tkatchenko, who attended the APEC meetings, thanked Imunika for helping promote Papua New Guinea-grown coffee.
Junhu Park, founder and CEO of Imunika, thanked PNG for providing coffee beans suited to their selection. “We are using the Papua New Guinea Marawaka Blue Mountain as the signature line for our Imunika Red and Imunika Blue,” Park said.
He added that the company carefully selects PNG beans and bioferments them with seven mushroom complexes to enhance health benefits.
"We love the blue mountain beans, it's very well-rounded coffee, with rich chocolaty nutty flavor, it's perfect for sustainability wise, flavor wise and prestige wise." Park confirmed.
Imunika Wellness Specialized Coffee is the brand under which Marawaka coffee is fermented, processed and distributed in the markets of South Korea, the United States and Dubai.
"We are privileged and honored to feature our patented mushroom bio fermentation technology based on Korea fermentation culture combined with PNGs home grown coffee beans to deliver healthy coffee experience to the most distinguished guests for this event." Park said.
It imports around 600 bags of raw Marawaka coffee beans every year out of which it produces specialty premium coffee.
