Opposition tussle continues
A five-men Supreme Court bench has unanimously granted Chuave MP James Nomane standing in his Section 18 Application to become the Opposition Leader.
According to Mr Nomane a substantive matter will follow.
Following the ruling, he says the country needs a vibrant and active Opposition to hold the Marape-Rosso Government accountable.
He welcomed the decision and said his fight is for the people of Papua New Guinea and not just Chuave and Simbu Province.
The Chuave MP hailed yesterday's unanimous Supreme Court decision, stating his lawyers will continue the case for a substantive matter.
Renowned lawyer Paul Mawa is spearheading Nomane's case.
The Chuave MP was ousted as the Deputy Opposition leader in the previous Parliament sitting and was replaced by North Fly MP James Donald.
Nomane has now standing to return to the top post as the case progress.
He says the country is confronted with so many underlying issues and people continue to struggle for services.
The Chuave MP says this fight is for the 10million plus people of Papua New Guinea.
He says this country is bigger than any mandated leader and what belongs to the people must triple down in better service delivery.
Nomane beleives he can restore the integrity of the Opposition Office and ensure every money spent by the ruling Government is checked.
