While some schools have begun Grade 8 examinations without a hitch yesterday, some of Milne Bay’s remote schools are still waiting for their exam papers to arrive.

The large maritime province usually takes at least a week to deliver examination papers, but this time they had only two days.

And already some schools are reporting they've not received the papers as yet, while the Grade 8 Exams schedule started today.

Primary school teacher Nathan Iwaidina from the remote St Mary's Jinjo Primary School on Rossel Island, just past lunchtime today, confirmed they had assembled their 49 Grade 8 students this morning, had devotional prayers and wished them the best, but were still looking out for the papers to come.

The five primary schools in Rossel include St Mary's at Jinjo, N'jaru Primary, Damunu, Saman, and Mopa Primary schools, which is around 120 Grade 8 students on the island to sit the exams.

Provincial Education Advisor Roma Tuidam confirms most that have received have proceeded as scheduled, those that are yet too will do so today or tomorrow [Wednesday].
