PPC Baim reiterates call on ban on school outings
Madang's Provincial Police Commander, Acting Superintendent Robert Baim, is reiterating calls for students, teachers, and parents to respect the province-wide ban on school outings.
Police announced the ban last week following a recent school picnic on Pik Island that resulted in one young man still missing at sea.
PPC Baim stressed this warning applies throughout this entire period as students complete their final programs and begin school closing activities.
"All school closing ceremonies must be held strictly within school premises under the close supervision of parents, guardians, and teachers. No students are allowed to walk around in groups or travel unsupervised. Be advised that police patrols will be monitoring all coastlines, beaches, and islands throughout this period. Any school, students, or teachers found breaching this directive will face serious consequences," he said.
The public is also urged to report immediately to the nearest police station or patrol officers any individual, group or school not complying with his directive.
PPC Baim added your cooperation will help ensure the safety of our students and the protection of public order in the province.
Mr Baim explained this warning is issued in the best interest of student safety, and everyone is urged to take this directive seriously and act responsibly.
