Manam Soccer 7s kicks off to support island book project

A first ever Manam Soccer 7s Charity cup is scheduled for 25th October 2025, in Port Moresby - aimed at raising funds for the Island's book project.
The Manam Islander's Book Project or M-I-B-P is a non-profit organization set up about 8 years ago, to help children from its schools in its 16 villages, care centers, and its communities with early literacy skills and training for teachers, while also providing awareness on issues affecting them.

Founder Shalanta Boli told NBC Sports, the charity cup is a fundraising initiative to restart its activities in the new year:
The Cup is looking to have 16 teams register for K500 each, with some teams showing interest already.
Ms Boli has made a call out for Manam Islanders, people from Bogia, and the province to come forward and register their teams to partake in this inaugural cup:
The charity cup will be held at the AFL field, at Murray Barracks, from 9-5 pm.
