PNG NRL team named ‘PNG Chiefs’

The PNG NRL team name was announced today at the Santos National Football Stadium before the kick-off of the men's Prime Minister's XIII game this afternoon.

Prime Minister James Marape was given the honor to announce the team in front of a packed stadium.

After the running of the 'Name Your Team' online competition, the most common name voted by the general public is PNG Chiefs.
