Macdonald to lead PNG

Nene Macdonald will be leading the PNG Prime Minister's XIII tomorrow when they take on Australia in the men's PM's XIII fixture

The Captaincy of the PNG Prime Ministers XIII was revealed yesterday when Macdonald accompanied Coach Jason Demetriou to speak to the media in a press conference.

Macdonald who has 19 tests and 3 PMs XIII matches under his belt, said he is honored to lead his country and test themselves against a tier one rugby league nation like Australia.

This will be the 31-year-olds first time to lead out a PNG side as Captain, and he is looking forward making his family and PNG proud.

Other leaders in the side who will assist Macdonald include veteran Jack De Berlin, Capras enforcer Nixon Putt and Epel Kapinias.
