K92 Mining renews and expands partnership with PNG Hunters

K92 Mining Ltd, operator of the Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province, has renewed and expanded its sponsorship agreement with the Papua New Guinea Hunters.
The renewed two-year gold partnership will run from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2027, and strengthens K92’s commitment to the national rugby league team, which competes in Hostplus Cup.
The partnership, originally launched in 2024, will now feature broader branding opportunities for K92, including placement on the back of the Hunters’ training apparel and continued presence on the players' shorts.
K92 will also gain increased visibility through stadium signage, digital platforms, and enhanced community engagement initiatives.
K92 Mining chief executive officer John Lewins said the extended partnership reflects the company’s long-term commitment to Papua New Guinea.
“Our partnership with the PNG Hunters has been a source of great pride for K92, as it aligns with our broader commitment to Papua New Guinea’s people and communities,” Lewins said.
“We are excited to renew and elevate this collaboration, supporting the Hunters as they inspire fans across the country and compete on the International stage.”
PNG Hunters CEO Scott Barker welcomed the continued support, describing it as a significant boost to the club’s development goals.
“K92’s continued investment strengthens our program, allows us to further develop pathways for Papua New Guinean players, and enables deeper community involvement through initiatives in the Eastern Highlands and Morobe provinces,” Barker said.
The partnership forms part of K92’s broader social responsibility framework, which focuses on responsible development and delivering shared value to the people of Papua New Guinea.
