The Coffee Connections West Rugby League club were all smiles this week when they received new sets of uniforms courtesy of their naming rights sponsor.

From this weekend and onward, they will be running out with their brand new white and lime green uniforms.

The uniforms were for all divisions; Men's A Grade, Men's B Grade and Women's Open.

Head Coach of the Club Daniel Apie'e thanked Coffee Connections Limited for it's continued support.

This year is the 18th year for the Goroka-based independent coffee exporter to support the rugby league team which comprises of youths from the Goroka Urban and Gahuku LLG's.

Coach Apie'e said the support from Coffee Connections Limited [CCL] has made a difference over the years, providing the opportunity where players are scouted into the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis franchise and also onto national representative sides.

Last year, the club saw 10 of it's female players make it to the Lahanis women's team that won the inaugural Santos Cup, the premier domestic women's rugby league competition.

The CCL West Rugby League Club also prides itself in producing several PNG Orchids players over the years, and plans on doing more in the future.

With a good record in creating pathways for rugby league players in the Eastern Highlands, CCL Managing Director Henry Ame is motivated to pour in more support to rugby league at the community level.

When presenting the uniforms, he assured the club that CCL will continue to support them, thus, encouraged them to excel.

The former Goroka MP said CCL not only supports rugby league alone, but other sports like golf, darts and lawn bowls.
