Sir Julius Chan's body was handed over to his Piklam Clan of Susurunga, in the evening.

This was delayed by the clan at his hausboi.

His family, wife and children were at his residence waiting patiently for his casket to be released by the clan.

He was finally brought to his residence at 9:30 last night.

Welcomed by his male grandchildren dressed in black, they walked infront of his vehicle, bearing his casket.

The late Sir Julius Chan was welcomed by the hundreds of people gathered at his residence.

He spent a last night in his family home.

The last man standing will be laid to rest in the evening today, following a funeral service at 10 am.

Prime Minister James Marape and his state ministers are expected to arrive in Huris, by Helicopter in time for this.

The last man standing, Late Sir Julius Chan, will rest today at his beloved Manmantinut, Huris home in Namatanai, New Ireland Province.

He will be laid next to his two staff, a grounds man, Andreas from Chimbu, and Jimmy from Madang.
