National Broadcasting Corporation [NBC] Kundus have progressed to the Corporate Softball semifinals after a dominant 7-0 win over Alibi Bar and Grill.

The knockout match on Saturday was intense as both sides needed a win to proceed to the next stage of finals in the slow pitch competition.

NBC stamped their authority on the Bisini Diamonds, taking down the rookie Alibi outfit with a dominant performance to secure a spot in the plate semis.

Skipper Aileen Asi said they were confident heading into the match, and it was flawlessly displayed on the scorecard.

“It was tough at the start, but we managed to pull through in the remaining innings,” Asi said.

“Our preparations were on par for the game, and we knew we would make it through.

“We’re confident to reach the grand finals in our third season.”

NBC Kundus won the toss and decided to field, giving the opportunity to Alibi to bat earliest. Both sides couldn’t take a point each in the first two opening innings under seamless fielding settings.

After some brilliant handling by the two teams, NBC managed to break the deadlock in the top of the third innings, which set the winning pace for them.

Alibi exhausted all their opportunities to come home as strong fielding play by NBC ensured their rivals were kept on bay from the onset to finish.

NBC registered points in the remaining innings with important home runs playing a significant role in the 7-0 victory.

Asi said they’re now focused on the upcoming match this weekend to decide their grand final fate since joining the competition in 2022.
