PNGOC raises over K200,000 for Team PNG in first challenge of Corporate Golf

The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee [PNGOC] has raised K204, 080.98 from the first leg of the Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club.
A total of 50 teams registered in support of Team PNG national athletes who will be participating in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games next month.
PNGOC out-going president, Sir John Dawanincura expressed his gratitude to all who supported in making the event a successful one.
“As we close off a successful day at the PM’s Golf, I would like to extend my gratitude towards Prime Minister, James Marape,” Dawanincura said during the challenge last Friday.
“I would like to commend you [PM] on your continuous support towards the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee and Team PNG. Your contributions are highly appreciated”.
Dawanincura also acknowledged key partners of the PM’s Golf challenge in The National, Ela Motors, Air Niugini , SP Brewery, , Media Partners, Coral Sea Hotels, Trophy Haus, Trukai Industries Limited, Theodist, Blue 7 Team, Vodafone., Telikom, PNG Ports, Southern Cross Assurance.
The PM’s Corporate Golf Challenge is an annual fundraiser, hosted by the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee for Team PNG preparations towards major international games.
The Golf challenge began in 1998 at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, and later spread to Lae in 2005. This year is the 26th year for PNGOC to host the prestigious event.
Sir John concluded by stating, “Without your support, today [Friday] would not have been successful as it is. Thank you and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the coming years”.
The next Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge will be held on Friday in Lae.
Registrations for teams in Lae are still open with fees at K3, 000. The PNG Olympic Committee is encouraging teams of four people to register in support of Team PNG.
