Vipers demolish Cutters in rescheduled PNGNRLC match

Port Moresby Vipers held off a work-shy Kimbe Cutters outfit, 28-6 this afternoon at Santos National Football Stadium.
The fast-starting Vipers managed strong composure in defense, restricting Cutters from scoring in second half.
Despite the West New Britain provincial government sponsored side adding points first in the postponed Digicel ExxonMobil Cup Round 5 match through winger Robertson Gala, the Cutters couldn’t cope with the pace of the Vipers.
Cutter's execution was untidy in the second half contest as the visitors struggled to surge past a resilient Vipers defense.
The home team bagged four tries in the opening stanza, which set the pace for victory at NFS.
Vipers skipper Joel Gena starred for his side with a player-of-the-match performance, slotting four converted goals from five tries.
Gena’s coordination in leading Vipers attack was worthy in the club’s 22-point victory as they focus on establishing themselves in the top-4 of the 12-team Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition.
The rescheduled round 5 clash was initially planned at Humphreys Oval in Kimbe but due to flight disruptions, the game was moved to Port Moresby.
