SP PNG Hunters produced a compelling victory by stunning Hostplus Cup ladder leaders Northern Pride with a 30-12 win.

The visitors were kept scoreless in the second stanza as Hunters piled on two more tries after taking a narrow 18-12 lead at halftime.

Hunters coach Paul Aiton highlighted that the team has been putting strong emphasis on individual preparation and following the systems and processes to achieve positive outcomes.

Aiton said Saturday afternoon’s 18-point win was the result of a robust effort put into preparation prior to the game.

After recording back-to-back wins in the round 8-9 encounters, the Hunters could fine themselves in top-8 if they continue the striking performance next week.

Hunters were determined to put on a strong display at the Santos National Football Stadium heading into the game.

Young playmaker Finley Glare, Alex Max, Sanny Wabo, Benji Kot and Elijah Roltinga scored a try each in Hunters polished performance.

Glare was outstanding in conversion duties, slotting five goals after earning a call up in the starting side at halfback position.

Max also continued his try-scoring masterclass from last weekend’s hatrick with a 4-pointer in the Hunters five-try haul in Port Moresby.
